13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Starks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sly Stone! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. No luck for Starks with that takedown attempt. Starks tries a head kick but it misses.
Stone just misses with a punch to the body.

Stone staying out of range there. Sly Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Starks checks a leg kick nicely. Stone is looking to land body kicks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Starks is looking to clinch but Stone is avoiding it.

Starks moves into the clinch. Starks pushes Stone back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Stone is trying to force a seperation but Starks has the dominant position. Stone is trying to break free. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Starks. Stone tries to break the clinch but Starks is controlling the position. A hook to the body from Starks.
Stone tries to circle away but Starks has him pinned against the cage. Starks lands with a short head shot on the inside. Starks misses with a punch to the body.

It looks like Sly Stone has been cut. Starks lands an uppercut. Starks working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Starks tries a body shot but Stone blocks it.

Starks lands a hook that snaps the head of Stone backwards. Stone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Stone throws a sloppy head kick and Starks moves out of range easily. Sly Stone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Starks lands with a slapping head kick. Stone works Starks's body with a nice hook. Starks feints and then cracks Stone's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stone down. Starks throws a good cross that connects.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Starks throws a leg kick that is checked and Stone counters with a low kick, right behind Starks 's knee. Stone throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Starks moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Stone throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Andy Starks has been cut. A shot to the liver by Starks. Beautiful body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starks connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stone's hands. Starks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stone circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stone throws a nice outside leg kick. Stone throws a head kick that misses so Starks counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Starks is looking to work some ground and pound but Stone has wrist control. Starks wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving. Starks prevents Stone from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone is looking to stand back up but Starks counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Stone. Starks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Starks controlling the pace. Starks wants to pass the guard but Stone is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Starks lands a nice short elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy Starks dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's time! Back to the action!
A punch combination from Stone misses. Stone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stone throws a lazy head kick and Starks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Starks.
Stone throws a sloppy head kick and Starks counters with a takedown into side control. Starks working the ground and pound. Starks postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Starks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The strikes coming from Starks are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Stone pushes Starks away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Starks gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Starks throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Starks looks up at the clock and then as Stone takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Starks smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Starks wants to control but Stone is keeping him busy. Starks is really struggling to control Stone but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Starks is controlling him well. Starks lands a few punches from side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth. Starks working the strikes but Stone uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Stone tries to kick Starks off but Starks keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Starks not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starks wants to pass the guard but Stone is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Starks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Stone pushes Starks off looking to stand but Starks dives back in and keeps control.
Stone avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Starks. Starks sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stone defending well though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Starks throws a lazy head kick and Stone counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Stone throws a hook but Starks avoids it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Starks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Starks misses with a wild combination.
Starks misses with a wild body shot. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stone.
Stone throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Starks counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Stone is lucky that one didn't land flush. Starks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stone is looking to land body kicks. Stone throws a lazy head kick and Starks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Starks throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Starks just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stone's brow. Starks scores with a shoulder strike. Starks misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Starks. Stone tries to break free but Starks pushes him back against the cage. Nice elbow from Starks. Starks misses with the head strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Starks lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Starks is working for takedown but Stone is calmly controlling the position for now. Stone blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Stone tries to break free but Starks pushes him back against the cage. Stone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stone throws a leg kick that is checked and Starks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Starks misses with a low kick. Stone thows a leg kick but Starks checks it and Starks counters with a left and a right that stings Stone. Starks moves out of range of the leg kick from Stone. A slapping leg kick lands for Starks.
Stone walks into a stiff left hand from Starks. Starks is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Nice body punch from Starks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone throws a head kick that misses and Starks counters with a flying knee. Nice. Stone thows a leg kick but Starks checks it letting Starks counter with a right hand. Stone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Starks takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Andy Starks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Starks lands a head shot. Starks lands a head kick. Stone smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Stone fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

A chopping leg kick lands by Starks. Stone misses with the body kick and Starks counters with a good low kick that Stone was not able to check. Starks misses with a takedown and Stone counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Nice uppercut lands for Starks. That snapped Stone's head back.
Starks moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A head kick by Stone misses and Starks counters with a thumping low kick. Sly Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Starks tries a head kick but it misses.

And that's the end of the fight! Andy Starks showed his dominance in that final round. Well Starks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
