0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Shabadoo! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ohoolihan clinches with his opponent.
Shabadoo looking to slow down the pace here. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shabadoo. Ohoolihan blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ohoolihan managing to block the knees to the body from Shabadoo.
Shabadoo is trying to stall.
Ohoolihan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Shabadoo up against the cage. Shabadoo avoids the elbow strike from Ohoolihan, against the cage.
Nice body punch from Ohoolihan. Shabadoo doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ohoolihan breaks the clinch.
Ohoolihan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Shabadoo fails to pull guard.
A short right from Ohoolihan on the inside. Shabadoo tries to pull guard but Ohoolihan holds him up against the cage and eventually Shabadoo drops back down to his feet.
Ohoolihan tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Shabadoo prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ohoolihan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Shabadoo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ohoolihan.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ohoolihan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Shabadoo's brow. Ohoolihan wants to get back to striking at distance but Shabadoo won't allow it.
Shabadoo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ohoolihan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shabadoo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Shabadoo avoids the elbow strike from Ohoolihan, against the cage.
Ohoolihan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ohoolihan slips a jab and a cross from Shabadoo.
Ohoolihan throws a series of strikes that have Shabadoo backpedaling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shabadoo getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Shabadoo takes a swing at Ohoolihan's ribcage but misses. Shabadoo throws a hook but Ohoolihan blocks it. Shabadoo misses with the combination.
Ohoolihan drives through and clinches with Shabadoo against the cage.
Ohoolihan has clasped his hands together around Shabadoo's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Shabadoo is not content to let Ohoolihan control the position. You can see the frustration on Shabadoo's face as Ohoolihan controls the position. Shabadoo is looking to regain half guard here but Ohoolihan keeps moving and retains side control. Ohoolihan trying to control the position but Shabadoo is working away. Shabadoo sneaks back into half guard. Ohoolihan is breathing heavily. Shabadoo is looking for a sweep. Ohoolihan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ohoolihan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Shabadoo wants to control but Ohoolihan is keeping busy.
Shabadoo is staying active underneath Ohoolihan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shabadoo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ohoolihan's waist but Ohoolihan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shabadoo off to one side. Mickey Ohoolihan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Shabadoo. Ohoolihan shoots and misses and Shabadoo moves into the clinch. Ohoolihan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shabadoo has a couple of punches blocked by Ohoolihan.

Shabadoo swings wildly with an uppercut but Ohoolihan uses good head movement to avoid it. Shabadoo working aggressively here.
Ohoolihan prevents a body shot from Shabadoo. Ohoolihan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shabadoo.
Shabadoo tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Ohoolihan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Shabadoo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ohoolihan lands a takedown into guard.
Shabadoo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ohoolihan trying desperately to get to his feet.
Ohoolihan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ohoolihan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shabadoo on the ground. Shabadoo working for a submission but Ohoolihan is keeping him at bay. Ohoolihan trying desperately to get to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ohoolihan is working to get back to half guard.
You get the feeling that Ohoolihan really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ohoolihan flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Shabadoo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ohoolihan turns into him and now he's in Shabadoo's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ohoolihan wanted to stand there but Shabadoo had control of the position. Shabadoo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ohoolihan is one step ahead there. Shabadoo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ohoolihan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shabadoo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ohoolihan's back instead. Shabadoo misses with a punch to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mickey Ohoolihan dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ohoolihan takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Shabadoo misses the shot to the body. Nice takedown defense from Shabadoo. No joy for Ohoolihan on that attempt. Shabadoo wants to clinch and Ohoolihan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Shabadoo throws a looping overhand right but Ohoolihan ducks down to avoid it. Ohoolihan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shabadoo moves away. Shabadoo lands a head kick!
It looks like Mickey Ohoolihan has been cut. Shabadoo shoots in and drives through. Ohoolihan sprawls well. Ohoolihan swats away the attempt to clinch by Shabadoo. Shabadoo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shabadoo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Shabadoo has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Ohoolihan is forced to tap!
