Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Werner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benito Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill Werner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benito Sobral! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobral doesn't manage to clinch there - Werner circles away.
Werner plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Sobral gets a takedown into half guard. Werner tries to roll over but Sobral keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobral is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Werner has managed to free his arm - good work. Sobral seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Sobral's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Sobral is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobral trying to control from half guard but Werner is working away. Werner makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Werner gets the takedown into side control. Werner decides to stand back up. Werner steps back and let's Sobral get back to his feet. Werner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sobral, pushing him back against the cage. Werner trying to land knees to the body.
Werner wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sobral has him pressed against the cage. Sobral jumps guard but Werner stands there with Sobral around his waist. Sobral gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Werner tries to stall but Sobral uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobral lands a couple of digs. Sobral drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Werner dives on top into guard. Werner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Werner postures up.

Werner trying to control but Sobral is working from the bottom. Sobral wants to get back to his feet but Werner is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sobral has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Werner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobral tries to land a sweep but no joy. Werner is sitting in close to Sobral's body. Sobral has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Werner is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Werner is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sobral.
