Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robson Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Oliver might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Magistrates - Here Comes the Judge. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Oliver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robson Mendes! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliver circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mendes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oliver was covering up waiting for the punch and Mendes finishes the takedown easily into guard. Oliver had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mendes defends it easily. Oliver looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Oliver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mendes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mendes looking to pass the guard. Mendes trying to control the position from guard on top but Oliver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendes gets to his feet - Oliver follows without any prompting. Mendes throws a wild body kick that Oliver sees coming a mile off. Oliver is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mendes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Oliver misses with a takedown attempt and Mendes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Mendes advances to half guard. Oliver is breathing heavily. Mendes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oliver is just riding it out for now. Mendes eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Oliver is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mendes pulls his head out easily. Mendes decides to stand and escape the position. Mendes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Oliver is looking to regain half guard here but Mendes keeps moving and retains side control. Mendes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Mendes in side control, throwing shots but Oliver defends. Mendes advances to full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliver tries to reverse the position but Mendes maintains control. Mendes is working for a guillotine from mount but Oliver frees his head quite easily.
Oliver manages to regain half guard. Good work. Oliver looking for submissions off his back. Mendes has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Oliver defend it? Mendes steps over the head and cranks it - Oliver is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mendes!
