Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marv Statler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Brookins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins is trying hard to land a takedown here. Statler sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brookins feints and as Statler raises his hands in defense, Brookins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brookins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Statler dives on top into guard.
Statler lands a couple of elbows.
Statler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brookins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Brookins is trying to keep Statler in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Statler wants the takedown. Brookins is fighting it off but Statler persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Brookins's guard against the cage.

Statler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brookins's guard.
Statler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Brookins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Statler walks away with a smile on his face. Brookins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Statler is pressed up against the cage. Brookins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Statler down to the mat. Statler avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Brookins counters with a single leg into guard. Statler didn't expect that.
Brookins wants to control from the top but Statler keeps moving.
Statler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Brookins counters with a nice uppercut.
Statler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brookins is fending him off so far but Statler persists. Nope, Brookins circles away and we're back to standing.
