Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Becker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dmitri Mitia! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitia fails with a takedown attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mitia is defended easily by Becker. Mitia misses with a takedown attempt - Becker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. David Becker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Mitia. Becker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mitia on the side of the head.
It looks like Dmitri Mitia has been cut. Becker throws a series of punches but Mitia moves out of range. Mitia avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Becker throws a hook but Mitia avoids it easily. Mitia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mitia wants to pass the guard but Becker is defending well. Mitia is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitia is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mitia is trying to work for a kimura but Becker is defending well.
Mitia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Becker keeps working. Becker pushes Mitia off looking to stand but Mitia dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mitia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mitia frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Becker is squirming around, avoiding Mitia's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitia is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Becker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Becker! Becker won't allow Mitia to sweep him here. Mitia looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Becker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Mitia trying to get back to full guard but Becker takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Mitia is looking to improve his position but Becker isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mitia is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mitia slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Becker is breathing heavily. Mitia tries to roll over but Becker keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mitia regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Becker dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dmitri Mitia's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Becker tries to bum rush Mitia with a series of wild strikes but Mitia uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mitia shoots in but no luck this time. Mitia closes the distance and clinches up with Becker, looking for a takedown. Mitia pushes Becker against the cage but Becker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Becker leaves Mitia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. David Becker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Mitia. Becker swinging wildly here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Becker misses with a straight left. David Becker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Becker throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mitia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mitia shoots for a double leg takedown but Becker sprawls well. He's pushed Mitia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mitia will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Becker as he avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mitia misses with a takedown attempt - Becker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mitia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Becker as he jumps to the side. Mitia moves out of range of the strikes. Nice sprawl there from Becker as Mitia shoots in. Mitia shoots for a double leg takedown but Becker sprawls well. He's pushed Mitia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jab by Becker. Becker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Becker wants it to stay on the feet. Mitia is trying hard to land a takedown here. Becker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Becker throws a right hand that Mitia ducks under and follows up with a left that Mitia also avoids with ease.

Mitia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Becker throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Becker throws a series of punches but Mitia moves out of range. Mitia slips a jab from Becker. Becker jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mitia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Becker's waist but Becker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mitia off to one side. Mitia fails to land the takedown. Becker throws an overhand right that lands on Mitia's shoulder, as Mitia tries to avoid the shot. No luck for Mitia with that takedown attempt. Becker misses with a straight right. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitia shoots in looking for a takedown. Becker tries to sprawl out of it but Mitia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Becker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Becker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Becker misses with a few strikes there.
Nice takedown defense from Becker. No joy for Mitia on that attempt. Horrible takedown by Mitia or perhaps it was just good defense by Becker which made him look bad. Mitia looks for a takedown but Becker sprawls well. A swing and a miss from Becker.

Becker tries to avoid it but Mitia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Becker to the ground. Becker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mitia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Becker pinned against the cage. Becker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mitia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Becker defends it nicely. Becker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Becker throws a jab when Mitia was well out of range. Mitia fails with a takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Becker. No joy for Mitia on that attempt. Becker is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Becker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that's the end of the fight! David Becker showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Becker, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
