Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franek Polel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franek Polel looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Davidson!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson shoots in but Polel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Polel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Davidson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Polel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Davidson shoots in but no luck this time.
Polel explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Davidson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Polel tries for a takedown but Davidson circles away easily

and Davidson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Polel!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davidson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Polel has worked his arm free - good work by Polel!
Polel regains half guard.

Davidson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Polel sees it coming and defends easily.
Polel is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are battling for position here. Polel manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Polel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Polel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davidson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davidson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Davidson is pushing down on Polel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Polel is fighting to maintain full guard but Davidson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Polel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Polel is trying to maintain the position but Davidson is very close to passing his half guard.
Davidson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Davidson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Davidson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Polel is controlling Davidson's position as best he can from this difficult position.

and Polel counters with a single leg into guard. Davidson didn't expect that.

Polel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Davidson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Polel defends well.

Davidson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Polel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Polel gets to his feet - Davidson follows without any prompting.

and Polel decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davidson's guard.
Franek Polel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Davidson.

Polel drops back looking for a leg! Davidson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davidson manages to kick Polel off! Polel jumps back into Davidson's guard.
Polel wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Davidson is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Polel manages to get to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Polel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Davidson wants to stand and escape but instead Polel has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Polel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Polel off to one side.

and Polel holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Polel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Davidson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Polel to the mat. Polel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Polel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
