Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keke Hulttio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chuck Tuazon! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Tuazon. Tuazon scores with a takedown into Hulttio's guard. Hulttio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hulttio lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tuazon! Hulttio misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Tuazon really wants to buck Hulttio off and get back to his feet. Hulttio moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tuazon has worked his arm free - good work by Tuazon!
Tuazon is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Hulttio has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tuazon!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hulttio looking to control but Tuazon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Tuazon squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Hulttio is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tuazon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hulttio goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tuazon is on top in guard.
Tuazon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Tuazon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tuazon lands a couple of elbows. Tuazon wants to control from the top but Hulttio keeps moving. Tuazon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hulttio avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hulttio keeping moving, preventing Tuazon from controlling successfully. Tuazon landing with the ground and pound. Hulttio avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hulttio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tuazon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tuazon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tuazon throwing strikes but missing. Hulttio wants to sweep but no luck. Tuazon throwing strikes but missing. Tuazon is sitting in close to Hulttio's body. Hulttio has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Tuazon is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Tuazon is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hulttio.
