PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cain Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Carlos Jose Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Juan Carlos Jose Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jose Montoya throws a head kick but Dos Santos moves out of range.

Dos Santos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dos Santos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dos Santos cracks Jose Montoya with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jose Montoya is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dos Santos lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dos Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cain Dos Santos.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dos Santos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
