Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Gelder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Spackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Diego Gelder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Spackman! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spackman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gelder doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spackman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gelder's guard now. Gelder throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gelder pushes Spackman off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gelder has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Spackman uses from the top position. Gelder is looking for a triangle but Spackman pushes his legs off easily.

That could mean trouble for Spackman! Spackman looks gassed! Gelder is standing up, even though he is in mount. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gelder is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gelder and Spackman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gelder is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gelder sneaks out the side door and pushes Spackman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Spackman has his takedown stuffed and Gelder counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Spackman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Spackman is keen to just control but Gelder is a slippery customer. Gelder wants to control but Spackman is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gelder has one foot on Spackman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gelder fails with the takedown and Spackman counters with a shoot takedown. Gelder fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spackman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Spackman looking to control but instead Gelder has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Gelder pushes Spackman off looking to stand but Spackman dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gelder scores a takedown into full mount! This has been an exciting period of action! Spackman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Gelder get's back to his feet. Gelder gets caught flat footed, as Spackman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gelder keeping moving, preventing Spackman from controlling successfully. Gelder is fighting to maintain full guard but Spackman has managed to sneak the leg through. Spackman works his way into full mount! Spackman tries to control but Gelder wriggling away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Spackman won't let Gelder get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Diego Gelder will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Spackman is looking to regain half guard here but Gelder keeps moving and retains side control. Gelder stands up and we're back to a striking position. Spackman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gelder counters with a nice double leg into guard. Spackman is working an open guard so Gelder takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Spackman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gelder counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gelder decides to stand up. Gelder throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Gelder with a poor takedown and Spackman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gelder! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spackman with shots to the head and body - Gelder looks very uncomfortable down there. Spackman prevents Gelder from getting the reversal. Spackman has control of Gelder's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gelder regains control of the situation pretty easily.
You get the feeling that Gelder really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gelder is pushing Spackman's head away, looking to escape. Spackman manages to hold on to the position though. Spackman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Spackman laying and praying for a moment but Gelder takes advantage and regains half guard. Gelder has one foot on Spackman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gelder gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Spackman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gelder's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Gelder. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Spackman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gelder defends it well. Gelder kicks off Spackman and gets to his feet. Spackman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Spackman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gelder is squirming around, avoiding Spackman's attempts to control the action. Spackman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Spackman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Gelder is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Spackman has control of Gelder's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gelder regains control of the situation pretty easily.

John Spackman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Spackman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gelder's guard. Spackman is nestled in close to Gelder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Spackman moves into full mount! Gelder won't be happy about that! Spackman is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Gelder is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Gelder flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Spackman anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Gelder and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Spackman slips an arm under Gelder chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Spackman has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Spackman is squeezing on Gelder like an anaconda would it's prey. Gelder fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
