Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Terry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asama Dissanayake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terry has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Mike Terry has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Terry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Asama Dissanayake! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dissanayake feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Terry is breathing heavily. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dissanayake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dissanayake's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dissanayake throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dissanayake trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dissanayake must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dissanayake is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Terry keeping full guard, as Dissanayake tries to pass. Dissanayake wants to control from the top but Terry keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dissanayake might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Terry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dissanayake feints and then dives in with a takedown. That's two minutes gone in the round. Dissanayake slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Dissanayake just content to control the position. Dissanayake decides to stand back up. Dissanayake steps back and let's Terry get back to his feet. Dissanayake instigates a clinch. Dissanayake has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Terry uses from the top position. Dissanayake wants to sweep here but Terry controlling him for the moment. Terry missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dissanayake wants to get back to his feet but Terry is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dissanayake has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Dissanayake wants to sweep but no luck. Dissanayake is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terry is aware though and is defending well. Dissanayake seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Dissanayake wants to sweep here but Terry controlling him for the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dissanayake wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Dissanayake is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Terry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dissanayake to score an easy takedown into full guard. Terry wants to get back to his feet but Dissanayake is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Terry keeping moving, preventing Dissanayake from controlling successfully. Dissanayake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Terry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dissanayake stops Terry from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asama Dissanayake dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Dissanayake explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Dissanayake shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Terry's guard. Dissanayake looking to pass the guard. Terry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dissanayake looking to pass the guard. Terry is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dissanayake is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dissanayake stands and steps away. Terry gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dissanayake shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Terry is trying to defend but Dissanayake finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Terry is trying to stand back up but Dissanayake is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Dissanayake lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Dissanayake is trying to control. Terry wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Terry wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dissanayake looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dissanayake gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Mike Terry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Terry with a lazy takedown attempt and Dissanayake counters with a body kick. Terry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dissanayake to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dissanayake looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Terry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dissanayake decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Terry, up you get! Dissanayake connects with a high kick. Terry gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dissanayake counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dissanayake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Terry keeps working. Dissanayake stops Terry from getting back to his feet.
Dissanayake seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Terry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dissanayake is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Asama Dissanayake has got the better of the ground game so far. Dissanayake wants to free his trapped foot but Terry is holding on for dear life with his legs. Terry is looking to escape. Dissanayake moves nicely into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asama Dissanayake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Terry with a lazy takedown attempt and Dissanayake counters with a nice kick to the body. Terry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dissanayake counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dissanayake decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dissanayake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Terry, pushing him back against the cage. Dissanayake lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Terry backwards. Dissanayake has clasped his hands together around Terry's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dissanayake content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Terry stops Dissanayake from passing to mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terry wants to get back to his feet but Dissanayake drags him back down. Dissanayake trying to control the action but Terry is working from the bottom. Terry tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Terry holding both Dissanayake 's hands and preventing any damage. Dissanayake is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Terry is defending well though. Dissanayake let's go of the attempt for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dissanayake wants to control but Terry manages to buck him off and is now in Dissanayake's guard! Nice work there by Terry! Terry lands a couple of decent looking shots. Terry is fighting to break Dissanayake's control of his arms but Dissanayake is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Dissanayake tries to land a sweep but no joy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Dissanayake pushes Terry up against the cage in a clinch. Dissanayake pulls guard successfully.
Dissanayake avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dissanayake is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

A head punch on the inside from Terry fails to land. Dissanayake breaks the clinch.
Terry shoots and misses and Dissanayake counters with a head kick. That will keep Terry thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Terry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dissanayake will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Terry misses with a combination
and Dissanayake counters with a nice double leg into guard. Terry pushes Dissanayake off and gets back to his feet.
Dissanayake shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Terry as he avoids it easily. Mike Terry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Asama Dissanayake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Terry shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dissanayake counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Asama Dissanayake comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Dissanayake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
