Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dats Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cain velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dats Silva has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dats Silva seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dats Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, cain velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
velasquez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard.
Silva is trying to control the position but velasquez postures up.
velasquez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
velasquez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
velasquez misses with a low kick.
velasquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing velasquez off to one side.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Silva scores with a head kick.
cain velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva jabs velasquez right on the nose. velasquez blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but velasquez circles away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Silva - that will leave a mark!
velasquez looks gassed!
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
Silva fails to land the takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by velasquez.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. velasquez fights it but they end up in guard.
velasquez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
velasquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silva lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but velasquez is keeping the position.
velasquez has a closed guard, preventing Silva from standing up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by cain velasquez.
velasquez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by velasquez.

and Silva counters with a nice body kick.

Silva shoots for a takedown but velasquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

velasquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
Silva controls velasquez momentarily but velasquez frees himself.
Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in velasquez's guard.
velasquez wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dats Silva will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. velasquez tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. velasquez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
velasquez lands with a nice combination. Silva backs away looking to recover.
velasquez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.
velasquez is controlling the pace.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
velasquez stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

velasquez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
velasquez is trying to get back to full guard.
velasquez manages to get to full guard.

velasquez uses the cage to get back to his feet.
velasquez tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

velasquez clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
velasquez wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but velasquez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.
Silva wants to sweep here but velasquez controlling him for the moment.

Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. velasquez manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

velasquez striking off his back but it's not causing Silva any problems.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
velasquez feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, velasquez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Silva wants to control but velasquez passes easily into half guard.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. velasquez is working away from the top position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
velasquez escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
cain velasquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Silva looks to land a combination. velasquez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
velasquez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. velasquez defends it easily.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

velasquez gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting.

and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand!
velasquez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
What's velasquez going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Silva takes a little break here. velasquez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
velasquez is not content to let Silva control the position.
velasquez has one of Silva's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. velasquez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
velasquez is pushing Silva's head away, looking to escape. Silva manages to hold on to the position though.
velasquez explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
velasquez drives through with a takedown into guard.
velasquez tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

cain velasquez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think velasquez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
