Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gunnz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Gunnz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Aerts! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aerts swats away the attempt to clinch by Gunnz. Gunnz tries to clinch but Aerts is having none of it. Gunnz forces Aerts back against the cage and clinches. Gunnz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Aerts regains guard immediately. Gunnz stops Aerts from standing up. Aerts has control of Gunnz's left arm, preventing Gunnz from doing any damage. Aerts had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gunnz defends it easily. Gunnz wants to stand but Aerts is controlling his posture from full guard. Gunnz trying to control the position from guard on top but Aerts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aerts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Gunnz wants to control from the top but Aerts keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunnz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunnz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Aerts looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gunnz! Gunnz regains half guard. Gunnz is looking to control Aerts's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gunnz avoid being mounted? Aerts stands up out of the half guard. Gunnz avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Peter Aerts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gunnz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Aerts manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gunnz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Aerts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Aerts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gunnz is aware though and is defending well. Gunnz wanted to stand there but Aerts had control of the position. Gunnz is breathing heavily. Gunnz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Aerts's guard. Gunnz could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gunnz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Aerts is looking to escape. Aerts is looking to control Gunnz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aerts avoid being mounted? Aerts kicks off Gunnz and gets to his feet. Gunnz throws a body punch but Aerts moves out of range.

Gunnz is just content to waste time from the top position. Aerts takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Gunnz tries to stand but Aerts is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gunnz wants to pass the guard but Aerts is keeping the position. Gunnz prevents Aerts from getting back to his feet. Aerts had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gunnz defends it easily. Aerts is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunnz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aerts wants to stand up but Gunnz is controlling him. Aerts pushes Gunnz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Aerts ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Aerts throws a right and a left that Gunnz avoids nicely. Gunnz moves in looking to clinch but Aerts pushes him off. Aerts throws a right hand that Gunnz ducks under and follows up with a left that Gunnz also avoids with ease. Aerts connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Aerts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aerts cracks Gunnz with a solid left hand. Aerts decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gunnz, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Gunnz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gunnz uses from the top position. Aerts is looking to stand up but Gunnz isn't so interested in that idea. Gunnz wants to get up but he can't break Aerts's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aerts might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gunnz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Aerts is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Gunnz is staying active. Gunnz content just to control the position here. Aerts is looking to improve his position but Gunnz isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunnz slaps away a takedown attempt from Aerts, before circling back to the center of the mat. Aerts throws a right and a left that both miss. Gunnz shoots in and bounces Aerts off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Aerts trying to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Peter Aerts. Aerts gets a takedown into half guard. Gunnz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aerts's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aerts's back! Aerts trying to control but not successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aerts biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gunnz patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Gunnz is trying to stick to Aerts's back but Aerts is turning into Gunnz. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gunnz's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Aerts. Gunnz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Aerts stacks Gunnz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Aerts! Aerts grinds an elbow into Gunnz's temple. Aerts stands up. Aerts closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aerts lands in his opponent's guard.

Aerts decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Aerts throws a sloppy head kick and Gunnz moves out of range easily. Gunnz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gunnz darts in and clinches Aerts up against the cage. Aerts jumps guard and drags Gunnz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gunnz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gunnz won't allow Aerts to get back to his feet. Gunnz tries to free his leg and advance position but Aerts is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aerts wants to stand and escape but Gunnz is having none of it. Peter Aerts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gunnz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Aerts controls Gunnz momentarily but Gunnz frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gunnz fails with the takedown and Aerts counters with a three punch combo that has Gunnz backing up. Gunnz nods at Aerts to acknowledge the strikes. Tommy Gunnz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Aerts throws a sloppy head kick and Gunnz moves out of range easily. Aerts fails with the takedown and Gunnz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Tommy Gunnz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Aerts. Aerts looking for a takedown. Aerts misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gunnz.
