Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jabba The Hut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jabba The Hut!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by The Hut.
The Hut wants to stand but Bishop has his arm trapped.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bishop is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on The Hut's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Bishop is looking to control The Hut's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bishop avoid being mounted?
The Hut throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bishop is looking for a sweep. The Hut is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, The Hut seems content to control.
The Hut is looking to take a break and control but Bishop is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bishop is looking for a sweep. The Hut is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bishop preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
The Hut fails to land the takedown.

Bishop throws a looping overhand right but The Hut ducks down to avoid it.

Bishop lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Bishop.
The Hut takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bishop fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice takedown defense from Bishop. No joy for The Hut on that attempt.
Charles Bishop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jabba The Hut.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Bishop. The Hut shrugs it off though.

Jabba The Hut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches The Hut napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Bishop lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The referee asks Bishop politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bishop prefers to stall for the moment though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Hut is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bishop asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bishop remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bishop wants to control for a moment but The Hut uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bishop lands with a hook. The Hut tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Jabba The Hut has been cut.

The Hut tries for a takedown but Bishop circles away easily

and Bishop decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Hut's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The Hut is looking to sweep but instead, Bishop has passed into half guard.
Bishop passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for The Hut!

Bishop looking to control but The Hut is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bishop lands with some strikes.

Bishop has hold of The Hut's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and The Hut manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The Hut is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Bishop fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The Hut is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The Hut tries to hold on but Bishop pushes him away.

Bishop swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and The Hut is now in Bishop's guard. A big mistake from Bishop there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Hut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bishop holds on and takes a little breather.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Hut tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Hut closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jabba The Hut has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bishop is pulling down on The Hut's head. It's preventing any offense from The Hut, at least for the moment.
Bishop controls The Hut momentarily but The Hut frees himself.

Well Bishop has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
