1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Jork! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Strike looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Strike is looking to clinch. Good standup being displayed there by Strike as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Danny Jork has been cut. Strike tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jork decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Strike's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jork trying to control the position from guard on top but Strike is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Strike working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jork. Jork seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jork is pushing down on Strike's leg trying to pass to half guard. Strike is fighting to maintain full guard but Jork has managed to sneak the leg through. Well, if Jork is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jork is pressing down on Strike's thigh, looking to free his foot. Strike is holding on for now. Jork sitting and controlling from the half guard. Strike pushes Jork off looking to stand but Jork dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Danny Jork has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Strike darts in trying to clinch and Jork decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Strike's guard. Strike keeping moving, preventing Jork from controlling successfully. Jork postures up in Strike's guard and throws a big left but Strike blocks it. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jork pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Strike is keeping the position for now. Jork postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jork is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jork trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Strike knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jork on the ground. Jork drops back looking for a leg! Strike is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Strike manages to kick Jork off! Jork jumps back into Strike's guard. Jork showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Strike wants to stand but Jork is controlling the position. Jork decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Strike, up you get! Strike clinches but Jork breaks the clinch and Jork decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Strike's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jork landing some decent shots from guard. Strike avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Jork dominated that round. The cut man is working on Danny Jork's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Strike tries to clinch up and Jork counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Strike's guard now. Jork controls from within his opponent's guard. Strike can't keep his opponent in guard - Jork advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Jork stalling. Jork throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jork missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jork maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Strike could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jork has cracked it and Strike is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jork!
