Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rusik Abasov! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! aplestair is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Abasov's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Abasov is trying to maintain the position but aplestair is very close to passing his half guard. aplestair is trying to control the action in half guard but Abasov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Abasov looking for submissions off his back. aplestair is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Abasov as he works his way to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. Abasov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force aplestair to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so aplestair shrugs it off. Abasov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and aplestair is now in Abasov's guard. Abasov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! aplestair seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Abasov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
