Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Velimir Rasic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dirk Schaeffer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Velimir Rasic!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rasic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Rasic thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Rasic wants to take his opponent's back but Schaeffer doesn't allow it.

Rasic goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Schaeffer turns into him and now he's in Rasic's guard.
Schaeffer wants to control from the top but Rasic keeps moving.
Schaeffer wants to pass the guard but Rasic is keeping the position.

Rasic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Schaeffer is aware though and is defending well.
Rasic wants to sweep here but Schaeffer controlling him for the moment.

Rasic has his foot on Schaeffer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schaeffer works his way back into a safe position though.

Rasic drops back, looking for a kneebar! Schaeffer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Schaeffer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Schaeffer!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rasic postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schaeffer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rasic, into his guard.

Rasic has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schaeffer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rasic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schaeffer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schaeffer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rasic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Schaeffer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rasic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schaeffer has managed to get both his arms back between Rasic's legs - danger averted.

Well Rasic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
