Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Afternoon Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hitz's entrance music is "Psycho" - DZK. A fine choice. Mike Hitz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Hitz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Afternoon Beast! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hitz throws a nice looking combination but Beast bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Beast drops his hands momentarily and Hitz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Hitz throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hitz fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Beast is out of range. Hitz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Hitz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hitz looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hitz trying to control the position from guard on top but Beast is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beast is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hitz looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beast works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hitz thows a big elbow that misses. Hitz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hitz wants to control from the top but Beast keeps moving. Hitz wants to pass the guard but Beast is keeping the position. Hitz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hitz throwing strikes from guard but Beast blocks nicely. Hitz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hitz with a couple of shots to the head there. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hitz working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Beast striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beast tries to bench press Hitz off him but Hitz keeps the position. Hitz tries for a kimura but Beast is defending well. Hitz controlling from side mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hitz is looking to take a break and control but Beast is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Beast fails with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beast misses with a takedown and Hitz counters with a big head kick but Beast shrugs it off. Hitz tests Beast's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hitz misses with a few strikes there.

Hitz throws out a loose jab but Beast uses good head movement to avoid it. Hitz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beast moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Beast avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hitz throws a low kick but Beast moves out of range easily. Hitz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hitz is looking to take a break and control but Beast is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Beast looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hitz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Beast is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hitz pulls his head out easily. Beast has hold of Hitz's hands but Hitz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hitz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Hitz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Beast's head. Hitz controlling the pace. Beast tries to get to full guard but Hitz has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitz lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Hitz controlling the action here. Beast keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beast regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hitz. Beast keeping moving, preventing Hitz from controlling successfully. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hitz throws and elbow that misses. Beast uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hitz's guard. Nice move by Beast! Hitz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Beast manages to get himself to full guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hitz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hitz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beast swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hitz trying to control but Beast is working from the bottom. Hitz slips nicely into half guard. Mike Hitz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hitz trying to control the action but Beast is working from the bottom. Hitz thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Beast to regain full guard. Hitz tries to free his leg and advance position but Beast is retaining full guard. Beast is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hitz rolls with it to try and escape but Beast cranks on the arm and Hitz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
