The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Parker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Parker throwing strikes but Connelly uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Connelly wants to control but Parker is keeping busy.
Connelly is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Parker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Connelly keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Parker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Connelly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Parker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Connelly tries to roll over but Parker keeps him under control.
Parker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Parker is stalling here. Connelly is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Parker seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Connelly has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Connelly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Connelly throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Parker works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Connelly wants to pass to mount but Parker is defending the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
