Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between J Aldo Preuss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen All of the light as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. J Aldo Preuss has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Machida moves into range and clinches up with Preuss.
Preuss lands a left hand that snaps the head of Machida backwards.
Machida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Machida counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Preuss!
Machida wants to control the pace but Preuss is squirming around nicely.

Preuss changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Machida fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Preuss jumps guard and drags Machida to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Machida slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Machida shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Preuss's guard.

Machida is looking to take a break and control but Preuss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Machida tries to move into range but Preuss moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Preuss instigates a clinch.
Machida has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Preuss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Preuss makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Preuss tries to pull guard but Machida holds him up against the cage and eventually Preuss drops back down to his feet.
Machida gets control of Preuss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Machida will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Machida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Machida controls Preuss momentarily but Preuss frees himself.

Lyoto Machida showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Preuss thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Machida to regain full guard.
Machida lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Preuss!
Preuss tries to hold on but Machida pushes him away.
