PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Kaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaki has chosen MacGyver Theme as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer swats away the attempt to clinch by Kaki.
Jorma Kaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaki misses with an attempted mid kick.

Kaki closes the distance and clinches.
Spencer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kaki gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kaki jumps into guard, dragging Spencer to the mat.
Spencer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kaki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kaki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spencer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Spencer controls from within his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kaki fails with a takedown attempt.
Spencer lands a nice looking body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Spencer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spencer has an Americana. Kaki didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Spencer is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Spencer hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
