PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rampage Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Griffin's choice of entrance music: Go Ninja- Vanilla Ice. Jackson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Deshawn Jackson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin is looking to clinch.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jackson takes the fight into the clinch.
Jackson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Griffin fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Griffin lands with a nice body kick.
Griffin lands a jab-cross combination.
Griffin scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Griffin lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jackson takes a step back to recover.
Griffin tests Jackson's chin there with a solid looking shot.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Griffin pushes Jackson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jackson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jackson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Griffin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.

Griffin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Griffin stalks Jackson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackson's face. Jackson staggers backwards, shaken.

Griffin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jackson has him pressed against the cage.

Jackson prevents Griffin from breaking the clinch.
Jackson keeps control of Griffin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Griffin lunges at Jackson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jackson's hand.

Griffin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
