Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Baxter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pirate Everett! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baxter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Everett.
Everett shoots in looking for a takedown. Baxter tries to sprawl out of it but Everett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baxter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Baxter cracks Everett with an open hand slap. Nice takedown defense from Baxter. No joy for Everett on that attempt. Baxter closes the distance and clinches. Everett drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bob Baxter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pirate Everett. Everett trying to control the position but instead, Baxter has worked for underhooks and has pushed Everett into the cage. Baxter stalling the fight.
Everett should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Everett stalling in the clinch but Baxter improves position. Baxter taking a breather. Everett taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Everett is trying to break the clinch but Baxter has him pressed against the cage. Baxter prevents the takedown attempt.
Baxter has Everett pressed against the cage, preventing Everett from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Everett successfully pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Baxter advances position into side control! Everett tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Everett is working to get back to half guard.
Baxter unloading with bombs! Baxter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baxter content just to control the position here. Baxter punishing his opponent with strikes. Baxter controlling from mount. Everett tries to hold on but Baxter postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baxter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Baxter lands a big elbow. Everett wants to hold on but Baxter pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baxter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Everett can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Everett is wriggling around trying to escape.
Everett looks gassed! Oooooh, big shot lands for Baxter! Everett is hurt baaadly! Baxter is firing away with more strikes - Everett is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
