PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edward Furlong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilmer Musa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Furlong comes to the cage accompanied by Echo. Musa has chosen metallica enter sandman as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Wilmer Musa was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward Furlong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilmer Musa!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furlong closes the distance and clinches up with Musa, looking for a takedown. Furlong pushes Musa against the cage but Musa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Furlong.
Furlong fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Furlong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Musa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Musa tries a head kick but it misses.
Musa closes the distance and clinches up with Furlong, looking for a takedown. Musa pushes Furlong against the cage but Furlong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Musa tries to bum rush Furlong with a series of wild strikes but Furlong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Musa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Furlong.

Furlong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Furlong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Musa pushes Furlong away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Furlong gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Furlong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Musa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Furlong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Musa, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Furlong walks forward, straight into a front kick from Musa.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Furlong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Furlong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Musa pinned against the cage. Musa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Furlong looks to land a right hand but Musa moved out of range.
Musa throws a looping overhand right but Furlong ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Wilmer Musa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Furlong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Edward Furlong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilmer Musa.
Musa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Furlong on the side of the head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Furlong is working for a guillotine from mount but Musa frees his head quite easily.
Furlong can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Musa is looking to escape.
Musa is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Musa is controlling an arm, preventing Furlong from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Wilmer Musa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Musa has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
