PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Hoberman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Archer has chosen American Badass as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Danny Archer enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mitch Hoberman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Archer!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Archer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Archer lands in his opponent's guard.
Archer is working Hoberman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Archer jumps guard but Hoberman stands there with Archer around his waist. Archer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mitch Hoberman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Archer.

Archer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Archer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hoberman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Archer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hoberman has managed to get both his arms back between Archer's legs - danger averted.
Hoberman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mitch Hoberman.

Hoberman pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Hoberman just misses with a elbow thrown towards Archer's brow.

Hoberman is pushing Archer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Hoberman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Archer is defending well for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Archer swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hoberman tries to land a knee to the head but Archer blocks with his arms.

Archer jumps into guard, dragging Hoberman to the mat.

Archer is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hoberman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Archer's body to avoid the submission. Archer has instead reached around Hoberman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Archer arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Danny Archer!
