Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunnar Hoffman!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akergaard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hoffman was covering up waiting for the punch and Akergaard finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Akergaard advances position into side control!
Akergaard taking a breather here.
Akergaard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hoffman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Akergaard happy to just control the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Akergaard tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Akergaard working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hoffman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Akergaard asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Akergaard trying to control the position but Hoffman is working away.
Akergaard tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Akergaard throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Akergaard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoffman keeps working.
Hoffman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Akergaard is controlling him well.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Akergaard fakes the leg kick and cracks Hoffman in the body.
No luck for Akergaard with that takedown attempt.
Hoffman moves out of range of the body kick from Akergaard.
Hoffman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Akergaard shoots in and bounces Hoffman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hoffman keeping moving, preventing Akergaard from controlling successfully.
Akergaard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Akergaard works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hoffman pushes Akergaard off and gets back to his feet.
Caden Akergaard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akergaard throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Hoffman looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hoffman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hoffman misses with a two punch combination.
A chopping leg kick lands by Akergaard.
Akergaard scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Akergaard is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hoffman's shoulder. That is not cool.
Akergaard advances to full mount.

It looks like Gunnar Hoffman has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hoffman is breathing heavily.
