Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between LaDanian Rucker II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaDanian Rucker II! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Compton! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Compton tries to clinch but Rucker II is having none of it. Rucker II scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Rucker II looks to clinch and Compton counters by moving into the clinch. Compton throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Compton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rucker II is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rucker II blocks the elbow strike.
Compton goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rucker II prevents it.
Compton lands an elbow inside. Compton lands an elbow just above Rucker II 's eye. Compton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rucker II blocks it with crossed arms. Rucker II wants to stall.
Compton is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rucker II is trying to stall.

That's one minute gone in the round. Compton looks to throw an elbow but misses. Rucker II managing to block the knees to the body from Compton.
Compton changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rucker II fights it off and pushes away nicely.
LaDanian Rucker II has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Compton. Rucker II tries to clinch but Compton moves away and Compton counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Compton letting Rucker II take a breather here. Compton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Compton manages to end up in side control. A control attempt from Rucker II but he's now mounted! Compton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rucker II is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Compton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Compton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rucker II wants to pass the guard but Compton is keeping the position. Compton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Rucker II throws a strike but Compton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rucker II keeping full guard, as Compton tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Compton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Compton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Compton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Compton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rucker II, who protects the arm well. Compton looks gassed! Rucker II tries to strike but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody Compton dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Compton keeps the fight on the outside. Rucker II with a poor takedown and Compton counters with a nice double leg into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Compton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Compton thows a big elbow that misses. Compton drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rucker II looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rucker II looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rucker II! Rucker II throwing shots but missing, from side control. Compton struggling a bit here. Sloppy strikes there by Rucker II.
That's one minute gone in the round. Compton can't do much from the bottom here. Rucker II throws an elbow but Compton slips to the side and avoids it well. Compton wants to control but Rucker II postures up. Compton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rucker II wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Compton wants to control but Rucker II postures up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rucker II does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Rucker II darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Compton has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rucker II. Oh but Compton has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rucker II goes limp - he's gone! Compton jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
