Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcolm Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Malcolm Hopkins!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans wants to clinch.

Hopkins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hopkins tries to free his leg and advance position but Evans is retaining full guard.

Hopkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans is in a horrible position here. Hopkins smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Evans is squirming around, avoiding Hopkins's attempts to control the action.

Hopkins jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Evans is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Evans and Hopkins has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hopkins goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Evans has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hopkins but great work by Evans.

and Hopkins counters by moving into the clinch.

Hopkins has hold of one of Evans's legs. Evans is fighting the takedown attempt but Hopkins gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Hopkins drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Evans dives on top into guard.

Hopkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Evans is fighting to break Hopkins's control of his arms but Hopkins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hopkins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Evans's guard.

Hopkins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Evans is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hopkins is looking to take a break and control but Evans is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hopkins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
