PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Coko Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Fadden's choice of entrance music: From Hell by Faces Of Mars. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Coko Larsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larsen wants to land a leg kick but Fadden is out of range.
Larsen looks to land a body kick but Fadden moved away.
Larsen swinging wildly here.
Fadden moves out of range of the body kick.
Fadden throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Coko Larsen has been cut.

Fadden darts in and clinches Larsen up against the cage.
Fadden lands a nice knee to the body.
Fadden tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Larsen avoids it.
Larsen avoiding damage as Fadden throws knees to the body.

Larsen has had enough of the clinch but Fadden keeps him there for the moment.
Fadden jumps guard but Larsen stands there with Fadden around his waist. Fadden gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fadden is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Larsen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Larsen wants to stand up but Fadden is controlling the position.

Fadden makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fadden.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fadden tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Larsen wants to control from the top but Fadden keeps moving.
Fadden wants to hit a switch here but Larsen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Fadden there!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Larsen wants to control the pace but Fadden is squirming around nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Larsen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Larsen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fadden is looking to escape.

Larsen stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Fadden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Larsen pushes Fadden up against the cage in a clinch.

Fadden has managed to clinch.
Fadden misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Larsen.

Larsen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fadden tries to clinch but Larsen moves out of range.
Larsen leaves Fadden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

so Fadden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fadden chips away with some ground and pound.
Larsen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fadden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Larsen wants to stand and escape but Fadden is having none of it.
Larsen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fadden trying to control the position from guard on top but Larsen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fadden with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Fadden stands up over Larsen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Fadden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Larsen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fadden has Larsen in his guard.
Fadden is looking to stand back up but Larsen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Fadden.

Fadden wants to improve his position but Larsen is controlling well.
Fadden manages to get to full guard.
Larsen wants to control from the top but Fadden keeps moving.
Larsen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fadden striking off his back but it's not causing Larsen any problems.
Larsen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Decent striking displayed by Larsen there.
Larsen throws a shot from downtown. Fadden moves away and avoids it.
Fadden looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Larsen scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Larsen throws a head kick but Fadden moves out of range.
Fadden tries to clinch there but Larsen circles away.

and Fadden counters with a left to the body.
Larsen dips to his left and cracks Fadden with an uppercut!
Larsen looks to land a left hand but Fadden moved out of range nicely.
Coko Larsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fadden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Fadden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Larsen's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Fadden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Larsen pushes Fadden off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Larsen throws a nice looking combination but Fadden bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Larsen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Coko Larsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fadden throws a quick inside leg kick.
Fadden fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fadden doesn't manage to clinch there - Larsen circles away.

Fadden rushes Larsen and presses him up against the cage.
Fadden tries for a takedown but Larsen manages to get underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Larsen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

and Fadden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Larsen's guard now.

Larsen pushes a forearm under Fadden's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Fadden is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
