Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Falaris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Chapel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Falaris comes to the cage accompanied by Single Ladies - Brazilian Version. Chapel has chosen Madsen - Nitro as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Falaris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trent Chapel! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chapel displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Falaris throws out the jab. Chapel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Falaris sprawls well. Falaris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chapel gets slowly back to his feet. Falaris slips under a jab from Chapel. Falaris throws a head kick that Chapel semi-blocks.
Chapel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Chapel taking a breather here. Chapel throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapel prevents Falaris from escaping the position. Falaris prevents Chapel from improving position. Falaris pushes Chapel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Falaris prevents Chapel from improving position. Falaris is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Chapel trying to control the position but Falaris is working away. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Falaris pushes Chapel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Falaris managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Chapel.
Chapel tries to advance to mount but Falaris instead regains half guard. Falaris tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Chapel manages to move to mount!
Chapel tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chapel unloads with some shots from mount but Falaris bucks and avoids them well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapel throws some wild stikes that Falaris manages to avoid easily.
Chapel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Falaris can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Chapel with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Falaris really wants to buck Chapel off and get back to his feet. Chapel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Falaris is now in Chapel's guard. A big mistake from Chapel there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chapel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Falaris stands up and waves to Chapel to follow him. Falaris jabbing away but nothing is landing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Falaris lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Chapel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Falaris dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Chapel throws a lazy right hand but Falaris sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Falaris avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Falaris lands a head kick. Chapel smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Chapel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Falaris! Chapel thowing shots but they're missing. Falaris holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chapel tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Chapel throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Falaris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falaris tries to buck Chapel off but he can't manage it. Chapel trying to control but he's not successful this time. Chapel has hold of Falaris's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Falaris manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Falaris is trying to stand. Falaris stops Chapel from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Chapel is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Falaris has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Falaris blocking the ground and pound. Chapel sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Chapel throws some wild stikes that Falaris manages to avoid easily.
Chapel seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Falaris is holding on tight.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapel is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Falaris has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Chapel throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Falaris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chapel on the ground. Falaris squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Trent Chapel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Falaris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Falaris digs a good body shot into Chapel's ribs. Chapel misses with a body punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Chapel fails with the takedown and Falaris counters with a low kick, right behind Chapel 's knee. Falaris takes a swing at Chapel's ribcage but misses. Nice sprawl there from Falaris as Chapel shoots in. Marcus Falaris is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapel misses with an attempted mid kick.
Chapel checks a low kick from Falaris. Chapel takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Falaris uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Falaris tries a head kick but it misses.
Trent Chapel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chapel throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Chapel fails with a takedown attempt. Marcus Falaris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trent Chapel. A head kick misses from Falaris. Falaris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Falaris wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Falaris. Falaris leaves Chapel with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The fighters circling - Chapel throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Chapel shoots in but Falaris avoids the takedown attempt easily. Chapel shoots in looking for a takedown. Falaris tries to sprawl out of it but Chapel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Falaris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Chapel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Falaris digs a good hook to Chapel's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Falaris as Chapel shoots in. A telegraphed right hand from Chapel misses the target. Falaris throws a leg kick which misses Chapel's front leg but catches the back leg as Chapel tries to avoid it. Chapel takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A shot to the liver by Falaris. Beautiful body shot. A lazy left from Falaris finds it's target. Chapel moves out of range of the body kick. Falaris misses with a body punch
and Chapel counters with a left to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Falaris attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Falaris. Falaris fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Chapel. Falaris is looking to wear down Chapel with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Falaris lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Falaris moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Falaris scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A nice inside leg kick there by Falaris. That's going to slow Chapel down. Chapel sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Falaris showed his dominance in that final round. I think Falaris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
