Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chimpo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Lake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chimpo's entrance music is On The Darkside. A fine choice. Lake has chosen Only The Strong Survive as his entrance music. Jackson Lake has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Johnny Chimpo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Chimpo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Lake! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chimpo, pushing him back against the cage. Lake pulls guard. Lake working for a triangle but Chimpo defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chimpo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Chimpo scoring with punches to the head and body. Lake is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chimpo won't allow Lake to sweep him here. Lake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chimpo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chimpo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lake being controlled here, momentarily. Chimpo lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chimpo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chimpo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Chimpo trying to control but Lake is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lake is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chimpo is aware though and is defending well. Chimpo scoring with punches to the head and body. Chimpo wants to control from the top but Lake keeps moving. Lake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chimpo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Chimpo controls from within his opponent's guard. Lake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chimpo is one step ahead there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chimpo works over Lake with some ground and pound from guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chimpo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Chimpo cracks Lake with a solid left hand. Chimpo tries to free his leg and advance position but Lake is retaining full guard. Chimpo drops back looking for a leg! Lake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lake manages to kick Chimpo off! Chimpo jumps back into Lake's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chimpo looking to sit in guard and control but Lake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Lake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Chimpo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Chimpo wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lake looking to pass the guard. Chimpo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chimpo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake is looking to get to half guard. Chimpo landing shots from mount. Lake tries to reverse the position but Chimpo maintains control. Chimpo is landing with some decent strikes but Lake is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chimpo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Chimpo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lake can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chimpo trying to control but Lake is having none of it. Chimpo lands a big shot there that rocks Lake but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lake is trying desperately to improve position. Chimpo lands a heavy elbow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chimpo landing punches. Lake is looking to improve his position but Chimpo isn't that keen on the idea. Lake takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Chimpo landing strikes from the mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lake defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Chimpo. Lake tries to reverse the position but Chimpo maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Chimpo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lake has him pressed against the cage. Lake tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
