With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rashawn Curry!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curry throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rivera has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Geraldo Rivera has been cut.
Rivera digs a good hook to Curry's body.
Curry swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Rivera makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rivera scores with a hook to the body. Curry takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rivera thuds a left hand into Curry's body.
Curry looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rivera instigates a clinch.
Curry drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Rivera - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Rivera lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Curry.

Rivera lands a nice hook to Curry's body. Curry takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rivera lands a jab to Curry's midsection.

Rivera closes the distance and pushes Curry back into the cage.
Rivera cracks Curry with a nice body shot.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rivera.

Rivera breaks from the clinch.
Rivera lands a nice looking body shot.
Rivera fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Curry looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Curry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rivera sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rivera clinches up against the cage.

Rivera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Curry has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rivera finds it's way round the side to connect with Curry's head.
Curry closes the distance looking to clinch
and Rivera counters with a nice uppercut.
Rivera lands a nice looking body shot.
Rivera lands a jab to Curry's midsection.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivera uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Curry on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rivera darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Rivera lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Curry at a distance.
Rashawn Curry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivera getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rivera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Curry takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


Curry is rocked!
Rivera cracks Curry on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Curry falls backwards against the cage. Rivera follows up with more strikes that drop Curry to his knees. Rivera keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Curry! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Geraldo Rivera!
