Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oscar Rubio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jalen Reis!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Rubio.
Reis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Rubio shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Reis is trying to defend but Rubio finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rubio is trying to control the action in half guard but Reis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Rubio missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rubio wants to stand up but Reis is controlling the position.
Rubio sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Reis defending well though.
Rubio tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rubio wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reis keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rubio closes the distance and pushes Reis back into the cage.

Rubio breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Rubio.
Reis has his takedown stuffed

so Rubio counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rubio wants to control from the top but Reis keeps moving.
Rubio wants to stand but Reis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Reis is working an open guard so Rubio takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rubio thows a body kick. Reis tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Nice straight punches there by Rubio. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rubio.

Rubio drives through with a takedown into guard.

Reis is looking for a triangle but Rubio pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rubio works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rubio wants to work for an arm triangle but Reis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Reis actively working from the bottom here.
Rubio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reis on the ground.

Reis has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rubio. Oh but Reis has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rubio goes limp - he's gone! Reis jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
