Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Taeg Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taeg Chang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Compton! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Compton displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chang. Chang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Compton circles away. Compton takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Chang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Compton's waist but Compton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chang off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taeg Chang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Compton moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Chang takes one to the chin there. Compton throws a head kick but Chang moves out of range.
Chang tries to close the distance and clinch but Compton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chang dodges the punch combination from Compton.

That's one minute gone in the round. Compton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chang was well out of range. Poor timing from Compton. Chang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Compton sprawls well. Compton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chang gets slowly back to his feet. Compton cracks Chang with a right hand to the side of the head. Chang moves in looking to clinch but Compton pushes him off. Chang fails in his attempt to clinch. Compton has taken the fight to the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Compton. Chang has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Compton is trying to keep an underhook but Chang manages to get the takedown into half guard. Compton is defending against the submission attempts here by Chang.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Compton wants to get back to full guard. Chang missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chang is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Chang is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Chang will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Compton cracks Chang with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Compton closes the distance and clinches. A head punch blocked on the inside by Chang. Compton lands with a short head shot on the inside. Compton with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Chang's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Compton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Chang's elbow. Chang is breathing heavily. Compton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Compton dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Chang tries to clinch and Compton counters with a lovely shot to the body. Chang needs to keep his hands up - Compton had a free shot at his head there. Compton lunges at Chang with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chang's hand.
Chang is rocked! Compton throws a big shot that misses. Oh Chang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Compton tries to close the distance and clinch but Chang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chang seems to have got his legs back now. Compton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Chang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Compton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Chang is looking to clinch. Peter Compton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Compton has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Compton unloads a knee to the mid-section. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Compton softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Compton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Chang. Compton lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Chang gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Chang on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Peter Compton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Compton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Chang turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chang. Chang shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Compton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Compton thows a leg kick but Chang checks it and Chang counters with a takedown into side control. Compton wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Compton struggling a bit here. Compton is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Compton parries the strikes from Chang easily there. Chang is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Compton to escape.
Chang stands up. Compton misses with a hook. Chang ducked under it nicely. Compton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Some wild striking there from Compton.
Peter Compton seems to be getting the better of the standup. Compton throws a front kick aimed at Chang's knee but Chang avoids it well. Compton throws a hook but Chang avoids it easily. A jab from Compton does it's job there. Peter Compton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Compton fails to land with a series of punches.

A combination from Compton does no damage. Taeg Chang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Compton tries to clinch but Chang is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chang has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Chang there as he acknowledges the shot. Chang bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Chang has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Compton darts in trying to clinch so Chang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Chang has gone for a leg lock! Compton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chang's guard. Compton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Chang, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Compton throws a hook but Chang blocks it. Compton throws a lazy right hand but Chang sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Taeg Chang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Compton throws a hook to the side of Chang's head but Chang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Compton swats him away and circles back towards the center. and Compton counters by moving into the clinch. Peter Compton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Compton throws an elbow that misses.
