And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rolando Silva!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Franklin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Franklin content just to control the position here.
Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Franklin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silva has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Franklin controlling the pace for now.
Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Franklin is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Franklin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Silva wants to improve his position but Franklin is controlling well.
Franklin seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Silva is pressing down on Franklin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Franklin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Silva wants to sweep here but Franklin controlling him for the moment.
Franklin wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Franklin rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Franklin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
