Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silva looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderlei Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.

Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jackson wants to finish this one by submission but Silva is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jackson.
Silva avoids a strike by Jackson and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Jackson's guard! Fantastic escape!
Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Jackson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Jackson's attempts to control the action.
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.
Jackson trying to control but Silva is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jackson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Silva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.
Silva is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Jackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jackson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson is just content to waste time from the top position. Silva takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Silva throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease.

Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

Silva sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Jackson tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jackson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
