Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Jabface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Mercz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Jabface!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Mercz!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabface tries to land a leg kick but Mercz saw it coming and moves away.
Jabface throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jabface stuffs the takedown.
Jabface blocks a leg kick.

Mercz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mercz decides to stand back up. Mercz steps back and let's Jabface get back to his feet.

Jabface fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mercz sprawls well initially but Jabface persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mercz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Jabface stands up out of the half guard.
Johnny Jabface seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Jabface counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mercz!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mercz tries to lock up and control but Jabface gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mercz is trying desperately to improve position.

Jabface tries to get the hooks in deep but Mercz pushed the leg off.

Mercz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jabface wants to control the pace but Mercz is squirming around nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jabface lands a big shot there that rocks Mercz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Jabface has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jabface lands a heavy elbow.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jabface is looking to take a break and control but Mercz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jabface decides to take the fight back to the feet.

and Mercz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jabface's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Mercz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mercz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jabface is proving hard to escape from.

Mercz gets to his feet. Jabface looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

so Mercz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jabface throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jabface wants to get back to his feet but Mercz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mercz works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mercz is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Jabface is in real trouble.
Mercz scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Mercz controlling the positon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jabface tries to break free.
Mercz trying to control momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mercz looking to break Jabface's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jabface remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mercz will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Mercz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Jabface with a lazy takedown attempt

and Mercz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mercz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jabface swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mercz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jabface looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mercz is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mercz tries to lock up and control but Jabface gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mercz wants to control but Jabface is having none of it.

Mercz tries to control the position but Jabface now has his back.
Jabface is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Jabface gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Jabface gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Jabface apologises and we restart here on the feet.

and Jabface cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Jabface counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mercz won't be happy with that.
Check out the look on Jabface's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Jabface has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jabface shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jabface was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mercz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mercz keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Mercz moves into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Jabface showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jabface has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
