Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edward Yazerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valery Georgievich Karpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valery Georgievich Karpin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edward Yazerman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valery Georgievich Karpin! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karpin stuffs the takedown. Karpin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yazerman swats him away and circles back towards the center. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Yazerman. Yazerman swats away the attempt to clinch by Karpin. Yazerman has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Yazerman. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jab, jab by Karpin - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karpin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Karpin tries to clinch up but Yazerman circles away and keeps his distance. Yazerman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Karpin is fending him off so far but Yazerman persists. Nope, Karpin circles away and we're back to standing. Karpin stuffs the takedown attempt from Yazerman. Yazerman gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Yazerman shoots in but Karpin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Yazerman swings for the body but Karpin moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Yazerman. Yazerman tries for a kimura but Karpin is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yazerman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Karpin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Yazerman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yazerman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Karpin has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karpin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yazerman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Yazerman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yazerman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Karpin defending against the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Valery Georgievich Karpin will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Karpin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yazerman. Yazerman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karpin sprawls well. Karpin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yazerman gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karpin with an attempt at a knee that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yazerman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karpin just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Yazerman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yazerman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Karpin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Karpin gets underhooks to prevent Yazerman's takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yazerman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Karpin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Yazerman blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Yazerman tries for a takedown but Karpin manages to get underhooks.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yazerman jumps guard.

Yazerman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karpin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Karpin tries to stand but Yazerman is controlling from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yazerman has his foot on Karpin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karpin works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valery Georgievich Karpin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Karpin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Valery Georgievich Karpin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Yazerman fails with a takedown attempt. Yazerman shoots in and drives through. Karpin sprawls well. Yazerman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Yazerman tries to clinch but Karpin moves out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yazerman shoots in for a double leg but Karpin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Karpin gets a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Valery Georgievich Karpin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Karpin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
