Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricardo Montolivo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric the hammer! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! the hammer shoots in for a double leg but Montolivo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Montolivo misses with the combination.
Montolivo looks to land a combination but the hammer avoids it well. the hammer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Montolivo's half guard. the hammer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. the hammer thows a huge punch but Montolivo dodges it nicely.
the hammer stops Montolivo from getting back to his feet.
the hammer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Montolivo is just riding it out for now. the hammer eventually gives up the hold. Montolivo tries to push off, looking to stand up, but the hammer manages to move to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Montolivo is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
the hammer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
It looks like Ricardo Montolivo has been cut. the hammer controlling from mount. the hammer unloads with some shots from mount but Montolivo bucks and avoids them well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. the hammer landing shots from mount.
Ricardo Montolivo's cut is getting worse. the hammer looking to control but Montolivo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Montolivo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
the hammer misses with a head shot. Montolivo is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
the hammer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Montolivo is now in the hammer's guard. A big mistake from the hammer there, giving up the dominant position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Montolivo is looking to stand up but the hammer won't let him. Montolivo wants to stand and escape but instead the hammer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. the hammer tries to free his leg and advance position but Montolivo is retaining full guard. the hammer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. the hammer throwing strikes but missing. Montolivo keeping full guard, as the hammer tries to pass. the hammer looks gassed! the hammer forces his way into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. the hammer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Montolivo's head. Montolivo looks like he's trying to stand up.
the hammer is looking to advance position but Montolivo won't allow it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. the hammer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Montolivo's guard. Montolivo wants to stand but the hammer is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric the hammer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ricardo Montolivo's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Ricardo Montolivo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric the hammer. the hammer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. the hammer shoots in looking for a takedown. Montolivo tries to sprawl out of it but the hammer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Montolivo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. the hammer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. the hammer is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montolivo misses with a few strikes there.
Ricardo Montolivo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Montolivo misses with a wild combination.
the hammer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Montolivo defends it nicely. A big right followed by a crushing left from Montolivo knocks the hammer out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
