Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Lappin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Frank Warren! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lappin tries to close the distance and clinch but Warren swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lappin throws a big shot that misses. Lappin shoots in for a takedown but Warren shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Warren throws a leg kick but Lappin moved away. Warren has closed the distance and engaged Lappin in a clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Lappin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lappin lands a nice uppercut. Lappin has Warren pressed against the cage, preventing Warren from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Lappin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Warren fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lappin is looking to land body kicks. Lappin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Warren is looking to stand up but Lappin isn't so interested in that idea. Warren is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Warren will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Warren can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lappin trying to control the position from guard on top but Warren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Warren looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lappin is one step ahead there. Warren has Lappin pulled in close to control his posture.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lappin throws a hook to the side of Warren's head but Warren sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chris Lappin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lappin wants to clinch. Lappin avoids the head kick by Warren.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lappin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Warren.
Lappin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Warren tries to avoid it but Lappin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Warren to the ground. Warren escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lappin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Warren. Warren tries to close the distance and clinch but Lappin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Warren scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lappin is breathing heavily. Warren is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Lappin swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Warren content just to control the position here. Warren fails to take his opponent's back. Lappin is in a horrible position here. Warren smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warren lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lappin hang on? Lappin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lappin is trying to stand but he's just given Warren his back. Lappin covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Warren is looking to control Lappin but Lappin is wriggling around and keeping busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lappin grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Lappin trying to control the hands but Warren won't let him. Lappin is trying to shake Warren off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Warren won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lappin is looking to clinch. Warren fails to land the takedown. Lappin stuffs the takedown. Warren shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Warren throws a head kick that misses. Lappin drives through and clinches with Warren against the cage.
Lappin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lappin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Warren stands up from guard. Let's bang! Warren fails with the takedown. Some wild striking there from Lappin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Warren will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lappin moves into range and clinches up with Warren. Warren works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Lappin pushes Warren off and scrambles back to his feet.
Warren ducks under a wild hook from Lappin. Warren throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Warren gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A slow jab from Lappin misses its intended target. Warren shoots for a double leg takedown but Lappin sprawls well. He's pushed Warren's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Warren throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lappin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Warren. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A looping hook to the body misses from Lappin. Warren does a little dance to reset his feet. Warren gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lappin connects with a nice looking jab.
Lappin throws a front kick that sends Warren stumbling back into the cage. Warren shoots in looking for a takedown. Lappin tries to sprawl out of it but Warren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lappin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lappin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lappin is standing up over Warren. Warren looks to escape but Lappin dives into side control.
Warren manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Lappin is looking to pass Warren's guard but actually Warren recovers to full guard. Lappin wants to pass the guard but Warren is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Warren has his hands on Lappin's head, controlling the position. Lappin passes Warren's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Warren looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Warren is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lappin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Warren keeps working. Warren wants to control but Lappin is keeping busy.

Warren regains full guard. Nicely done. Warren can't keep his opponent in guard - Lappin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lappin stands up from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lappin goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Warren scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are battling for position here. Lappin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Lappin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Warren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Warren distracts Lappin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Lappin manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lappin throws a right and a left that Warren avoids nicely. Warren showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lappin.
Warren tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Lappin dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Lappin with a poor takedown so Warren counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Warren must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Warren sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lappin's guard. Warren is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Warren is trying to control the action in half guard but Lappin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Warren prevents Lappin from standing back up.
Lappin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Warren is looking to take a break and control but Lappin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Warren tries for a takedown but Lappin circles away easily and Lappin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lappin wants to control from the top but Warren keeps moving. Lappin throwing strikes from guard but Warren blocks nicely. Lappin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Warren is proving hard to escape from. Warren trying to keep a closed guard but Lappin is proving a slippery customer.
Lappin stands up and waves to Warren to follow him. Lappin tries to clinch there but Warren circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Warren clinches but Lappin breaks the clinch and Lappin counters with a nice uppercut. Warren shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lappin but Lappin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lappin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Warren backs up against the cage.
Lappin throws an overhand right that lands on Warren's shoulder, as Warren tries to avoid the shot. Warren steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lappin. Warren rushes Lappin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Warren prevents the takedown attempt.

He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Warren off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Lappin moves into the clinch. Warren decides to pull guard. Warren has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lappin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Warren trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lappin tries to free his leg and advance position but Warren is retaining full guard. Warren is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lappin is aware though and is defending well. Lappin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Warren, up you get! Lappin blocks a head kick by Warren.
Frank Warren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lappin has his takedown stuffed and Warren counters with a good low kick that Lappin was not able to check. Lappin shoots in for a takedown but Warren shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Warren tries to clinch up but Lappin circles away and keeps his distance. Lappin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Warren closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lappin to the mat! Lappin manages to get full guard. Warren wants to control from the top but Lappin keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Frank Warren. I think Warren has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
