Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layton Orient (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiro Nakamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Layton Orient! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Orient was covering up waiting for the punch and Nakamura finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nakamura passes Orient's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Nakamura not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Nakamura sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Orient for as long as he can get away with. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Hiro Nakamura just wasn't active enough. Nakamura tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Orient misses with a head kick.
Orient throws a leg kick that is checked and Nakamura counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nakamura forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakamura lands strikes from half guard. Nakamura is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nakamura missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nakamura wants to work for an arm triangle but Orient is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nakamura is working for a kimura but Orient is defending it quite comfortably.
This has been an exciting period of action! Orient keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orient blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nakamura. Nakamura landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Orient can do anything to dispel that myth. Nakamura scoring with strikes to the body and head. Nakamura controlling the action here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nakamura tries to pass the half guard into mount. Orient knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Orient defending well though. Nakamura looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Orient with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Orient is looking for a sweep. Nakamura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Nakamura trying to control the pace. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nakamura takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hiro Nakamura dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Some bone on bone action there as Nakamura checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Nakamura lands the left hand. Orient throws a leg kick and Nakamura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Orient won't be happy with that. A lull in the action here as Nakamura stalls from top position. Nakamura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Orient has escaped the position, nice work there. Nakamura misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nakamura wants to control but Orient is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Orient down.
Orient seems a little lost for a moment, as Nakamura dominates the positioning. Nakamura throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Orient gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Nakamura unloads with some shots from mount but Orient bucks and avoids them well.
Nakamura controlling his opponent. Nakamura is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Orient is rocked!
It looks like Layton Orient has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nakamura lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Orient! Nakamura sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Orient and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Hiro Nakamura!
