Matas throws the kick towards the body but marks avoids it.
marks drives through with a takedown into guard.
Matas keeping moving, preventing marks from controlling successfully.
Matas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
marks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
marks is working hard here to advance position.
marks trying to control the position from guard on top but Matas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Still in half guard, marks seems content to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
marks is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Matas still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Matas has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Matas lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear marks down.
Matas wants to control but marks is keeping him busy.

marks is breathing heavily.
Matas is looking to stand up but marks won't let him.
marks is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
marks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
marks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Matas wants to control from the top but marks keeps moving.

Matas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Matas is sitting in close to marks's body. marks has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Matas is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Matas is tapping! That was a very nice submission by marks.
