Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuudai Ryuu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryuu comes into the arena with HBO Boxing 24/7 Original Theme blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuudai Ryuu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Pope! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pope thumps Ryuu with a low kick. Ryuu throws a leg kick and Pope counters with a one-two to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ryuu misses with a hook. Ryuu misses with a hook to the body
and Pope counters with a nice body kick. Ryuu is breathing heavily. Pope lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryuu circles away quickly and effectively. Pope fails to land with a series of punches.

Ryuu misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Pope counters with a series of strikes. Ryuu will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pope lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pope moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pope tries to close the distance and clinch but Ryuu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pope tries a head kick but it misses.
Pope throws a body punch but Ryuu moves out of range. Pope chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pope slips under a jab. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. A slapping leg kick lands for Pope.
Pope fails to land with a series of punches.
Pope throws a right hand that Ryuu ducks under and follows up with a left that Ryuu also avoids with ease. Ryuu misses with a wild body shot. Pope throws a right and a left that Ryuu avoids nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryuu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pope sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pope buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pope throws a head kick that misses. Ryuu lands a leg kick that knocks Pope off balance momentarily. Ryuu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Pope counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Ryuu keeps the fight on the outside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pope lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ryuu at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pope throws a leg kick that misses. Pope drops Ryuu with a beautiful combination! Ryuu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pope is looking for the KO!

It looks like Yuudai Ryuu has been cut. Pope throws a head kick but Ryuu moves out of range.
Ryuu swings widly with a right hand
and Pope counters with a solid body kick. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A good leg kick by Pope. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trent Pope dominated that round. The cut man is working on Yuudai Ryuu's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Pope has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pope fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ryuu checks it well. Pope misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yuudai Ryuu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ryuu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pope sprawls well. Pope wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ryuu gets slowly back to his feet. Ryuu misses with a hook
and Pope finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A looping hook to the body misses from Pope. Ryuu does a little dance to reset his feet. Ryuu avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pope misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ryuu misses with a looping right. Pope is looking to score with low kicks. Trent Pope is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pope avoids the body shot from Ryuu.
Ryuu throws a poor cross that misses
and Pope counters with a head kick that drops Ryuu to the mat! Ryuu scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! Pope goes for a small jab and connects. Now Pope goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Ryuu stumbles back but Pope runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Ryuu to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Ryuu will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Trent Pope! Trent Pope is the new heavyweight champion!
