Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clay French (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogers is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by American Badass by Kid Rock. Steve Rogers is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Rogers! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but French swivels and escapes. Rogers lands a nice looking body shot.
Rogers lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Rogers misses with an uppercut. French saw that one coming. Steve Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. French moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A solid leg kick lands there for Rogers.

and Rogers counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rogers feints and then cracks French's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow French down. Rogers moves into range and connects with a jab. A solid body kick from Rogers. and Rogers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rogers scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rogers thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on French if he has to take too many more of those.

It looks like Clay French has been cut. Rogers scores with a jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. French ducks straight into an uppercut from Rogers and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - French manages to regain guard straight away.
French is rocked! Rogers controlling from the top position. It looks like Rogers might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rogers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. French keeping full guard, as Rogers tries to pass. Rogers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rogers tries to free his leg and advance position but French is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. French keeping moving, preventing Rogers from controlling successfully. French can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rogers controls the pace. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rogers throws a good cross that connects.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Rogers. Rogers manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Steve Rogers hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rogers cracks the inside of French's front leg. Rogers scoring well with a low kick there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rogers closes the distance and pushes French back into the cage. French is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A right hand to the body from Rogers.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but French is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rogers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as French works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Rogers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Clay French's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rogers lands in his opponent's guard. Rogers engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. French avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogers looking to sit in guard and control but French gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rogers looking for a sweep. Not yet Rogers, not yet.

Steve Rogers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. French tries to clinch but Rogers moves out of range. French tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rogers makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Rogers scores with a kick to the midsection. A head kick by French misses and Rogers counters with an inside leg kick. Rogers throws a quick inside leg kick. Rogers moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rogers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rogers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! French blocking the ground and pound. Rogers lands a nice shot to the head. Rogers misses with a head shot. Clay French has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rogers thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rogers controlling the position easily from mount. French has left one of his arms exposed and Rogers doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. French screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
