Payne kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ice Ice baby. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne shoots for a takedown but Tanabe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tanabe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Payne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tanabe's waist but Tanabe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Payne off to one side.

Tanabe swings for the body but Payne moves out of range.
