Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Owen Schmitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmitt comes to the cage accompanied by In God We Trust - Stryper. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmitt loads up on a big right hand but Newton slips the punch.
Newton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schmitt tries to avoid it but Newton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schmitt to the ground. Schmitt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schmitt finds Newton's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Newton flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Schmitt lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Newton will be OK.
