Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Axel Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens throws a front kick that sends Damsted stumbling back into the cage.
Axel Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Damsted closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stevens manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Stevens keeping moving, preventing Damsted from controlling successfully.
Damsted got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevens has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Damsted has managed to get both his arms back between Stevens's legs - danger averted.
Damsted passes into half guard.
Stevens gets back to full guard.
Stevens has a closed guard, preventing Damsted from standing up.
Stevens looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Damsted drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick Damsted off! Damsted jumps back into Stevens's guard.
Stevens looking for a guillotine here but Damsted defends easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stevens has his foot on Damsted's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Damsted works his way back into a safe position though.

Stevens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Damsted can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Damsted trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Stevens wants to sweep here but Damsted controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stevens trying to strike off his back.
Damsted drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick Damsted off! Damsted jumps back into Stevens's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stevens is on top in guard.

Stevens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Stevens is pushing down on Damsted's leg trying to pass to half guard. Damsted is fighting to maintain full guard but Stevens has managed to sneak the leg through.
Damsted wants to get back to his feet.
Damsted keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Damsted wants to get back to full guard.
Stevens is trying to work for a kimura but Damsted is defending well.
Stevens is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A nice elbow there by Stevens.
Stevens looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Stevens is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Stevens pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Stevens can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Damsted is looking to escape.
Stevens wants to finish this one by submission but Damsted is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Stevens.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stevens looking to control but Damsted is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Stevens is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Damsted is forced to tap! Great finish!
