Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xagas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Xagas misses with a double jab.
Davis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Xagas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Xagas keeps working.
Davis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Davis decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Davis misses with the combination.
Xagas scores with a head kick.
Xagas tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Xagas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Xagas wants it to stay on the feet.

Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Xagas moves out of range easily.
Davis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Ciro Xagas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Xagas sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Xagas was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Xagas controls Davis momentarily but Davis frees himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Davis takes the fight into the clinch.
Xagas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Davis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Davis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Davis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Xagas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Xagas is looking to get back to full guard here but Davis has managed to pass to side control instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Davis is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Xagas tries to keep at a distance but Davis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Davis has Xagas pressed against the cage, preventing Xagas from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Xagas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Davis lands a big shot there that rocks Xagas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

and Davis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
