Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wafty Cranker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cranker comes to the cage accompanied by The Divinyls - I Touch Myself. Wafty Cranker has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wafty Cranker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BJ Penn!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Penn throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Penn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cranker stuffs the takedown attempt from Penn. Penn gets slowly back to his feet.
Penn throws a right hand that Cranker ducks under and follows up with a left that Cranker also avoids with ease.
Penn shoots in looking for a takedown. Cranker tries to sprawl out of it but Penn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cranker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wafty Cranker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.
Penn throws a lazy right hand but Cranker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wafty Cranker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Cranker as Penn shoots in.
Penn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Cranker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Penn!

Cranker is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Penn is surviving well by controlling Cranker's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn is trying desperately to improve position.

Cranker looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Penn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cranker wants to take Penn's back but he can't do it this time.
Cranker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cranker prevents Penn from getting the reversal.

Cranker stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Cranker avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Penn throws a looping overhand right but Cranker ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cranker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Penn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Penn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Penn looks gassed!
Cranker is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cranker manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cranker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cranker moves nicely into side control.
Penn manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Cranker passes into half guard.

Cranker is trying to work for a kimura but Penn is defending well.

Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cranker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cranker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Penn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cranker defends it easily.
Cranker trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom.

Penn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cranker is aware though and is defending well.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cranker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cranker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cranker circles away.
Cranker on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Cranker moves out of range of the strikes.

Cranker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cranker decides to stand back up. Cranker steps back and let's Penn get back to his feet.

Cranker shoots in and bounces Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cranker looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Penn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cranker looking to pass the guard.

Cranker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Penn dives on top into guard.
Cranker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cranker is keeping the position for now.

Penn is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Penn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cranker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Penn, into his guard.

Penn looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Cranker pushes past his half guard into mount!

Penn tries to reverse the position but Cranker maintains control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cranker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Cranker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Penn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cranker trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cranker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cranker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Penn can't keep his opponent in guard - Cranker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Penn throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cranker escapes and throws Penn's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Cranker is looking to take a break and control but Penn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cranker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cranker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Penn keeps working.
Penn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cranker's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Penn works his way to full guard. Good work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Penn is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cranker rolls with it to try and escape but Penn cranks on the arm and Cranker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
