Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Ooka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zach Irracha! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ooka is looking to clinch but Irracha is avoiding it.
Irracha throws a sloppy head kick and Ooka moves out of range easily. Ooka throws a head kick that misses. Irracha darts in and clinches Ooka up against the cage. Ooka tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Irracha smiles and moves away.
Irracha throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Ooka scores with a shot to the body.
Irracha misses with an uppercut. Irracha throws a front kick that sends Ooka stumbling back into the cage. Irracha throws a lazy head kick and Ooka counters by clinching up. Ooka blocks an elbow strike from Irracha.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ooka tries to reverse the position but Irracha maintains control. Ooka is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Irracha content just to control the position here. Ooka is squirming around, avoiding Irracha's attempts to control the action. Ooka tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ooka is working hard here to advance position. Ooka bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ooka tries to score with some ground and pound. Irracha controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Irracha tries to improve position but can't. Irracha wants to control but Ooka postures up. Ooka goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Irracha rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ooka's guard! Nice work there by Irracha! Irracha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Irracha is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Irracha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Ooka looking for a guillotine here but Irracha defends easily.

Irracha wants to stand but Ooka has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Irracha trying to control the position from guard on top but Ooka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ooka is looking for a triangle but Irracha pushes his legs off easily.

Irracha clinches up against the cage. Ooka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ooka dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Irracha stuffs the takedown. Irracha lands with a slapping head kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Irracha throws a sloppy head kick and Ooka moves out of range easily. Irracha avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ooka looks to land a left hand but Irracha moved out of range nicely. Irracha tries a head kick but it misses.

Ooka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ooka is working for a kimura but Irracha is defending it quite comfortably.

Ooka seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Irracha has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Ooka is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Irracha is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Paul Ooka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Zach Irracha is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Irracha can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ooka is looking to escape. Irracha takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
